I have an old laptop that only has USB 1.0. Will any of those USB dongle thingies allow me to connect? (I'd rather not do a pcmcia card.) thanks dterrors@hotmail.com |

Maybe, maybe not. Does the USB dongle you're looking at say it supports USB
1.0? -- Richard G. Harper [MVP Shell/User] * PLEASE post all messages and replies in the newsgroups * for the benefit of all. Some USB adapters don't have drivers for Win98/ME, if that is a
consideration. you'll top out at 11or12 MB/Sec due to USB1 but apart from that it should be
fine. gR <> wrote in message news: oups.com... > > I have an old laptop that only has USB 1.0. Will any of those USB > dongle thingies allow me to connect? (I'd rather not do a pcmcia > card.) thanks > gerryR |

Actually a maximum of 12 megaBITS/second (Mbps or Mb/s or Mbit/s), not
megaBYTES/second (MBps or MB/s or MByte/s). 12 Mb/s is 1.4 MB/s.
