Default 0 Weight Questions

Does anyone know why MS includes questions in the exams that are not counted
towards the final score? I read an earlier post that stated...

"> ALso, on the beginning of the examn they state that some questions
> employ new technology and will not count for your score. According to
> one of my instructors they refer to these sim questions."

The Sims can't be the questions that don't count towards the score.
Everywhere I read the Sims carry more weight than the other questions. I'm
guessing that if I failed all the sims and got every other question correct I
would fail the exam. Any insight on this. Thanks everyone.

I've always assumed those questions are "test" test questions. They are trying
to gage the diffuculty of the question, or they want a general idea of how many
people know (or don't know) anything about it.

But then I don't know exactly which questions you are specifically referring to
either.

Please learn to cross-post.

Thanks

You made this exact same post (twice) in at least one other
certification-related newsgroup.

The problem with this is that your question(s) can be answered in one group,
but will not be seen by the people in the other group unless they just
happen to subscribe to both groups.

Cross-posting is generally frowned-upon by most groups in USENET usually
because some people abuse it, mostly for trolling. However, in situations
like this where you are asking a technical question, it is best to
cross-post, meaning instead of posting the same message in each group, you
select all the groups at one time and make the one post which then gets sent
automatically to all the groups. Then if and when other posters from
various groups reply, it all gets sent to all the cross-posted groups at the
same time, unless a replier removes one or more of the cross-posted groups
when they reply.

If you're using OE, simply add all the newsgroups in your "Newsgroups:" bar
before sending the message.

I've done my nice deed for the week. It's somebody else's turn next time.

Default RE: 0 Weight Questions

MS uses the ungraded questions for a few purposes. It is an opportunity to
test new techniques for asking questions like simulations or drag and drop,
etc...It is also a way to throw braindumpers off since they will not have
seen that info before. I think the biggest reason though is to test the
wording of a question and the prospective answers before they include it as a
scored question. Since all the questions are open to comment at the end of
the exam if gives testers the ability to tell MS that their phrasing was
ambiguous or confusing, or maybe just plain wrong.

I remember seeing a question about FSMO role placement on my 290 exam which
really caught me off guard because I hadn't studied for that subject. I
probably spent 5 minutes puzzling out that one question, and I'm pretty sure
I got it right. In retrospect I probably shouldn't have bothered since it
was outside the scope of that exam and it almost certainly had no impact on
my final score no matter what I answered.
