Default DVD Authoring Software

What are some of the better DVD authoring programs? I want to produce some
discs from DV camcorder tapes, and I'd like something fairly comprehensive
but not too expensive. I've tried Ulead Videostudio 9, it's OK, but rather
slow handling and it requires a min 1024x768 resolution (I prefer 800x600).
I'd also like something that can do the editing and DVD production in a
single program, which VStudio cannot.

I can run at much higher resolutions, but with a 17" monitor, anything above
800x600 gets difficult to see. I have a lot of trouble with eyestrain, and
higher resolutions (and therefore smaller print) seem to bother me.
