'Hung Aps' error messages

I keep the NYTimes as my home page. For the last month anytime I try and
click in a story I get a Hung Ap error message. I've updated all things
microsoft, deleted temp files/folders and run all my spyware/adaware/ clean
up apps as per reco's on the Geeks to Go forum.
No help.
