what subnet calculation to use for 70-216?
Cisco and Microsoft do not use the same formula to calculate the number of possible subnets: Microsoft: Number of subnets: 2^number-of-subnet-bits Cisco: Number of subnets: 2^number-of-subnet-bits - 2 http://support.microsoft.com/default...;en-us;q164015 supports this claim but the study guides do not. Not sure which one to use for the exam Any help would be appreciated jmiddleton67@hotmail.com |

because the exam is a MS exam you must follow MS guidelines.

Hi,
you should look at the question carefully before answering. Microsoft: Number of subnets: 2^number-of-subnet-bits This is the number of subnets that are created. Cisco: Number of subnets: 2^number-of-subnet-bits - 2 This is the number of subnets you can use to connect devices. So it depends on what is asked.. |
