What O/S 9x 2k xp........

try going into safe mode. when computer is booting up
start tapping on the F5 key to go directly to safe mode.
Does it do this in safe mode. How long has this been
happening and did disable system restore. If you didn't
chances are you can do a system restore to resolve this
really quickly. if you can get to safe mode go to
start>Programs>accessories>system tools> system restore.
should be somewhere close to that path.
