Today, DVD Verdict posted reviews of ALL SOULS DAY, CLUB PARADISE,
EAVESDROPPER, FOREPLAY, MATRIMONIUM, THE NET 2.0, UP THE ACADEMY, USCHI DIGARD: THE BUXOM BOMBSHELL COLLECTION, and WHO'S THAT GIRL?: ALL SOULS DAY (reviewed by David Johnson, overall score 73/100): "This is a zombie film, not a Father Dowling mystery! Give me flesh- chomping, shotgun-wounding, limb-tearing, head-punching mayhem!" FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/allsoulsday.php CLUB PARADISE (reviewed by Brett Cullum, overall score 74/100): "The movie aims for political satire, goofy hijinks, and screwball fun. It achieves very few of these, mainly because it tries to deliver too much in a short amount of time. By the time it stumbles to a beachfront revolution climax, we're not really invested in any angle, other than we kind of like Robin Williams." FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/clubparadise.php EAVESDROPPER (reviewed by Rob Lineberger, overall score 74/100): "Andrew Bakalar goes so far as to label this movie 'science fact.' If the central premise of this film ever enters the realm of fact, I'll volunteer for the next government super-weapon trial as a way of apology. Until that time, I'll enjoy my life of non-super-weapon-trial subject bliss and call BS." FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/eavesdropper.php FOREPLAY (reviewed by Bill Gibron, overall score 55/100): "The narrative is bloated on free love, the acting is arch and over the top, and the insights into human biology and libido are about as perceptive as a prepubescent boy with a copy of Mad Magazine under his mattress. There is a real effort here to be hip, happening, and totally with the times, but this bawdy, buffoonish burlesque makes baggy-pants comics seem absolutely cutting-edge." FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/foreplay.php MATRIMONIUM (reviewed by Brett Cullum, overall score 60/100): "We're not supposed to get offended by these painful caricatures; they are part of the spoof and meant to be campy. Yet there's always something off with projects that set out to be bad on purpose." FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/matrimonium.php THE NET 2.0 (reviewed by Rob Lineberger, overall score 79/100): "You don't so much watch The Net 2.0 as try to endure it." FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/net2point0.php UP THE ACADEMY (reviewed by Neal Masri, overall score 65/100): "Mad Magazine never attached their name to a feature film again. Ironically, National Lampoon has attached their name to much worse drivel in the ensuing years." FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/upacademy.php USCHI DIGARD: THE BUXOM BOMBSHELL COLLECTION (reviewed by Rob Lineberger, overall score 76/100): "Uschi radiates an animalistic aura of raw sex, even when her clothes are on. When she drops her blouse and reveals the nicest set of huge natural breasts you're likely to see, it seals the deal." FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/uschidigard.php WHO'S THAT GIRL? (reviewed by Rob Lineberger, overall score 45/100): "The parade of buffoonery is so extensive that I had cringes within larger cringes. The most common feeling I experienced in the interminable 92 minutes of this film was sympathetic pangs of revulsion."
