Default DVD Verdict reviews: THE WORLD, MY DATE WITH DREW, QUILOMBO, and more!

Today, DVD Verdict posted reviews of ACCORDING TO OCCAM'S RAZOR,
DESIGNING WOMAN, EMR, MY DATE WITH DREW, QUILOMBO, TUBE TOP TV, 2069: A
SEX ODYSSEY / RUN, VIRGIN, RUN, WHO'S GOT THE BLACK BOX?, and THE WORLD:

ACCORDING TO OCCAM'S RAZOR (reviewed by James A. Stewart, overall
score 82/100):
"The purpose of the movie, it turns out, is to get us thinking. Mora
doesn't know the answers -- and you won't, either, after watching this
film. It's probably not for every taste."

DESIGNING WOMAN (reviewed by Mike Pinsky, overall score 91/100):
"Gregory Peck and Lauren Bacall are ideally matched here and exhibit
crisp comic timing: their gravelly patter gives the screwball elements
of the plot a necessary cynical edge."

EMR (reviewed by Joel Pearce, overall score 80/100):
"More than anything, EMR feels too self-conscious. This marks directors
James Erskine and Danny McCullough's move from television to feature
films, and they are trying to show off what they can do."

MY DATE WITH DREW (reviewed by Michael Rankins, overall score 90/100):
"As Brian Herzlinger explains to Eric Roberts, 'I've had a crush on Drew
Barrymore since I was ten years old. Not a stalker crush -- a harmless
crush.' To which Julia's less famous brother replies, 'All the stalkers
say that.' In a nutshell, that exchange illustrates the unlikely magic
of My Date With Drew."

QUILOMBO (reviewed by Neal Solon, overall score 88/100):
"In 1986, director Carlos Diegues made a film about runaway slaves in
17th century Brazil. A completely foreign subject to most, the topic may
sound uninteresting, but I assure you that this film is anything but."

TUBE TOP TV (reviewed by David Johnson, overall score 85/100):
"So there you go -- a Troma release that's actually pretty funny. Fans
of sketch comedy will likely get a bigger kick out of this stuff than
anyone, but there should be ample material to amuse even the more jaded
film buff."

2069: A SEX ODYSSEY / RUN, VIRGIN, RUN (reviewed by Rob Lineberger,
overall score 82/100):
"The sum result is a pair of films that are so bad, so corny, so
misogynistic and lame that they should never work in a million years.
But the frauleins are so fresh, so game, and so naked that it works."

WHO'S GOT THE BLACK BOX? (reviewed by James A. Stewart, overall
score 88/100):
"Chabrol's New Wave camera work tends to distance us from the
characters, showing us the wider picture before zeroing in on them. This
often builds tension, letting us know there's an assassin or a possible
threat in the vicinity, while giving the overall film the Technicolor
travelogue feel common to movies of the 1960s."

THE WORLD (reviewed by Jesse Ataide, overall score 90/100):
