I have an Dell Inspiron 8200, 2G processor 1g RAM running WinXP/SP2. I am having a problem with the Crystal WDM audio codex. Yes, I'm getting that nasty "Device cannot start Code 10" error, but it's intermittant. I have updated ALL available drivers for the system and when I boot up the system, I get the error. I can go and reload the driver and it will work just fine...for only a short period of time though. After an hour or so, regardless of whether I'm using the system or just letting it sit the driver suddenly just reverts to the same error.
I just upgraded to 1g RAM. I also updated the BIOS to A11 yesterday. I ran Diagnostics and ne errors show up (at least while the driver is still working). I have gone into the registry and ensured the permission were set up properly.
Short of getting a new motherboard, and thoughts?
Thanks Dhar
