Hi everyone and Merry Xmas
I hope someone can help me. I got for Xmas a Liteon DVD Player/Recorder Model #LVW-5115GHC for my TV I have everything hooked up, cables everywhere, TV & a VCR & a Cable Box. I figured out finally, how to transfer a home movie from my camcorder to a disk. I also finally figured out how to transfer a home movie from my VHS tapes to a disk. I have been working on it for 3 days. My question is... I want to make dvd copies of all my home movies for each of my 4 kids and of course for me too! I am not sure what media to use, my player says that I can use them all. But I don't want to do all this work and then find out that some people won't be able to watch it on their tv. It came with a DVD+RW blank, so I practiced on it and took it to one of my son's and it played on his tv. What media should I use DVD+R or DVD+RW? Also in the manual it talks about finalizing & fomating disks, what and when would I do that? I also want to be able to put as many VHS tapes on one disk as I can so that I don't have to be using a million disks. sorry about the rambling, but just wanted to make sure that I gave as much info as possible. Thanks in advance and will await your replies before I buy any disks. Ninip |

To be on the safe side you would want to use DVD-R, DVD+R shouldn't be a problem either but DVD-R is the way to go IMHO. Finalizing should be done in the players after you recorded all the video you want on that disc. > |
