need help moving laserdisc to dvd

I am in the process of moving some of my older laserdiscs to DVD and I
have a question. I am recording them with my DVD recorder which works
great but when I switch sites it displays a blue picture for as long as
it takes me to turn the laserdisc over and I would like to find a way
to get rid of this. Is there an editing software that would allow me to
then read this newly created DVD and to remove the few blue frames in
the middle to get a perfect DVD with the entire content of both
laserdisc sites ?
I tried DVD shrink but when I use their authoring tool I end up with
two different titles. It plays as one but I can never rewind to the
first one once it started the second (if this makes any sense the way I
describe it)
