War of the Worlds 2005 dvd: Deleted Footage?

I had heard the 2 disc version would have at least the major sequence near
the end of the movie that occurs after the whole farmhouse segment of the
movie in which Ray and his daughter fend off an attack by a war machine in a
town at night before they made it to Boston. Is that hidden as an Easter egg
on one of the discs? I saw a tiny bit of it as unfinished animatics in the
segment that describes the designing of the tripods and aliens but it
appears that the complete scene isn't on the dvd which is a shame as it's
supposed to be a great sequence cut only due to pacing issues in relation to
the last 20 minutes of the movie.
