Today, DVD Verdict posted reviews of ADAM-12: SEASON ONE, THE AUTOPSY
FILES, THE DAVID STEINBERG SHOW, EARTH 2: THE COMPLETE SERIES, THE KOALA BROTHERS: MEET THE KOALA BROTHERS / WE'RE HERE TO HELP, MAGIC SCHOOL BUS: HUMAN BODY, MILLENNIUM: THE COMPLETE SECOND SEASON, MONTY PYTHON'S FLYING CIRCUS: ERIC IDLE'S PERSONAL BEST, THE REN AND STIMPY SHOW: SEASON FIVE AND SOME MORE OF FOUR, SCTV: VOLUME FOUR, THE WALTONS: THE COMPLETE SECOND SEASON, and WHAT'S HAPPENING!!: THE COMPLETE THIRD SEASON: ADAM-12: SEASON ONE (reviewed by Paul Corupe, overall score 75/100): "Like Dragnet, the Jack Webb-produced Adam-12 is a sparse but tough cops and robbers TV series that features stories 'ripped from police files.' Like its predecessor, it's a self-congratulatory, unabashedly one-sided view of law and order, but here the tone is much lighter and friendlier as it takes the viewer right into the squad car for an upfront view of this fascinating job." FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/adam12season1.php THE AUTOPSY FILES (reviewed by Patrick Naugle, overall score 88/100): "The Autopsy Files will quench the thirst of anyone sporting a morbid fascination with murder, or those who love things like CSI: Crime Scene Investigation or The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Because I love horror movies, something like The Autopsy Files speaks to me, and it says 'Patrick, you're a sick little puppy.'" FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/autopsyfiles.php THE DAVID STEINBERG SHOW (reviewed by Paul Corupe, overall score 45/100): "In the mid-1970s, the youth audience that Steinberg had previously made an impression on with his edgy act had since moved on to Saturday Night Live and SCTV, rendering this show less than a small blip on the TV comedy radar." FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/da...inbergshow.php EARTH 2: THE COMPLETE SERIES (reviewed by Aaron Bossig, overall score 92/100): "Call me a geek, but I think even bad science fiction is better watching material than most of what is on TV. Good science fiction, then, is something to appreciate, even get excited over." FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/ea...leteseries.php THE KOALA BROTHERS: MEET THE KOALA BROTHERS / WE'RE HERE TO HELP (reviewed by Mike Pinsky, overall score 67/100): " The lesson of each episode is always the same. Always try to help. Helping is good. We like helping out. It makes you want to throw an Ayn Rand novel at the producers and tell them you've had enough of altruism." FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/koalabros2fer.php MAGIC SCHOOL BUS: HUMAN BODY (reviewed by Bryan Pope, overall score 90/100): "Human anatomy is among the most fascinating topics the series has ever tackled, and, here, they treat it like high adventure, with danger lurking at every turn." FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/ma...shumanbody.php MILLENNIUM: THE COMPLETE SECOND SEASON (reviewed by Michael Stailey, overall score 96/100): "Season Two spins the series' original concept on its ear, discovering the dark and twisted humor found in any dire situation. Like a cavalry lead by John Waters and Tim Burton, the rebellious yet oddly reverential creative team of Glen Morgan and James Wong march into this dour world, lighting its deepest recesses with black light, and injecting its atmosphere with a mixture of nitrous oxide and fine Colombian reefer." FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/millenniumseason2.php MONTY PYTHON'S FLYING CIRCUS: ERIC IDLE'S PERSONAL BEST (reviewed by Jeff Andreasen, overall score 65/100): "Taken as a whole, the best skits delivered by Monty Python are sidesplitting fare. Snipped apart to fill a half-hour vanity piece for a single participant, they're a mess." FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/mpfcidlesbest.php THE REN AND STIMPY SHOW: SEASON FIVE AND SOME MORE OF FOUR (reviewed by Mike Pinsky, overall score 47/100): "I tried to give the show a chance. But two episodes into this first disc -- just four cartoons -- and I am on the verge of giving up and just writing this review without watching the rest of the set." FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/renstimpyseason5.php SCTV: VOLUME FOUR (reviewed by Paul Corupe, overall score 98/100): "Using a three-pronged humor attack consisting of subversive satire, outrageous slapstick, and tragically hilarious characters honed from the improvisational battleground of Toronto's Second City theater stage, SCTV spent eight years on the air championing the silly and the sublime." FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/sctvvol4.php THE WALTONS: THE COMPLETE SECOND SEASON (reviewed by Rob Lineberger, overall score 92/100): "The show is undeniably sentimental -- in fact, sentiment is one of its pillars. But The Waltons is sentimental in the best of ways. Its sentiment is a rudder gently steering us toward conclusions about humanity." FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/waltonsseason2.php WHAT'S HAPPENING!!: THE COMPLETE THIRD SEASON (reviewed by Dennis Prince, overall score 69/100): "The various set ups, then, aren't very inventive nor innovative -- we've seen this shtick before -- but the character chemistry is compelling enough that we'll look on and laugh at and with these three well-meaning but woefully inept young adults."
