I'm trying to backup my extensive DVD collection. I decrypt them with DVD
Decrypter, and then shrink them using DVD Shrink. I use Nero 6 to burn them. I have an 8X BTC +/- DVD burner. The drivers and firmware are all up to date. For a while everything was working with no problems, but all of a sudden when I go to burn the DVDs it goes a for a little bit and then dies. I've included the log file and have a screen shot if anyone wants to look at it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Write error That's your problem. Did you change media or something? You're only writing at 4x so that's safe. Your drive may be defective. Maybe. If it's still under warranty, you could pursue that. But for the effort of going thru that process, it's almost as easy to buy a new, faster, better one. That's less money. You can set DVDShrink so it will use Nero to burn, From the pulldownmenu > Preferences > tab-file I/O put a "check" in the "Enable burning with Nero" box. you dont have to use DVDDecrypter. only if it can't find the encryption key, or if you must rip a disc with another region code, you don't have to change the region of the drive, ripping with dvddecrypter. There have been reports that Nero does not always work properly with Shrink.
