WARNING - DVD Fire Hazzard
Recently a friend of mine accidentally placed a DVD in a portable CD player. Within seconds, smoke began billowing out of the CD player, then it burst into flames. He quickly grabbed the player and tossed it out an open window, but his clothing caught on fire, which then caught the window curtains. He sufferred 3rd degree burns to his arms, face, and upper torso. His home was completely destroyed. Fire officials said it was the DVD improperly placed in the CD player that caused the fire. A word of caution, NEVER put a DVD in a CD player. David davidmahoney@earthlin_.net |

The only way a fire could start within CD player is if your friend was smoking something. -- When you hear the toilet flush, and hear the words "uh oh", it's already too late. - by anonymous Mother in Austin, TX To reply, replace digi.mon with phreaker.net Impmon |

What mechanism is supposed to have come into play that's any different from any other "unrecognized disc" error? You might as well say that if you put a CD upside down into a player it will catch fire. Like anyone would believe that would happen. These hoaxes are like computer viruses by people too stupid to write code. I wonder how many email lists this one will end up on. Kimba W. Lion |

Damn, that's awful. It's too bad you both didn't die in the fire, because
you're both obviously too stupid to live. <davidmahoney@earthlin_.net> wrote in message news:... > WARNING - DVD Fire Hazzard > > Recently a friend of mine accidentally placed a DVD in a portable CD > player. Just for safety's sake, it's probably best not to have them in the same room. Drive your car to an open field, pour a gallon of gas all around the interior of the car. Get in and light a cigar and place a DVD in your ghetto blaster. See which one ignites the car.
