Default DVD Rentals

I am a movie fanatic but tired of paying big bucks to cable company for
subscribing to 5 separate premium movie networks and 4 on-demand sites. I
have seen ALL good flicks and waiting for weeks for additional movies to be
added...
I figured it would be better and cheaper to buy a used DVD player and
sign-up with a DVD rental outfit.
Currently I'm bidding on ebay on a cheap used player. However, my research
about rentals shows that there is only one outfit that would allow me to
rent 8 flicks each time ( approximately 30+ flicks a month allowing for
turn-around time) for about 20 bucks a month----Gameznflix.com. Has anyone
heard about this outfit?

Netflix. Blockbuster sucks.

Get a new one at WalMart or Best Buy. We got one for $30.

Better yet, get a DVD Recorder and use it in place of a VCR with
re-writable DVD discs. You can get one at WalMart for $99.

I have 3 day turn-around with Blockbuster. Send them 3 DVDs on
Monday, I fet 3 back on Thursday. (I can't watch them that fast - I
have a life - but it takes 3 days from the time I send them back till
I get the new ones. Rip the new ones, send them back the next day,
etc., etc.)

Are you aware that when you "rip the new [DVDs]" what you are doing is
illegal? When you make a DVD "rip" of a copyrighted DVD, you are
violating Title 17, United States Code, Sections 501 and 506. This is
criminal copyright infringement under federal law! And there are
criminal and civil penalties for this, and it under the jurisdiction of
the FBI. So I think you need to discontinue this. With Netflix you can
keep a movie out for as long as you want, so there's no excuse for
saying you "don't have the time" to watch them. And even if that's true,
it doesn't justify making an illegal copy. This isn't like using your
VCR to record a program so you can watch it later, this is stealing, and
you need to think long and hard before you do it again.
