Today, DVD Verdict posted reviews of BOOK OF LOVE, BROKEN, DON JUAN,
EARTHQUAKE: ABOUT GOT DAMM TIME!, PUT THE CAMERA ON ME, THE STAIRCASE,
and STARTING OVER:
BOOK OF LOVE (reviewed by Patrick Bromley, overall score 73/100):
"Adrian Lyne's Unfaithful did a far better job of exploring the
psychology of infidelity, but that was without the additional age
component thrown in. It begs the question of why the 'other man' was
made to be so young in the first place -- there's no attempt to deal
with the implications of that reality, so why include it? Dodging it
altogether is a cheat."

BROKEN (reviewed by Adam Arseneau, overall score 69/100):
"As a film reviewer, you have to go easy on an independent action/sci-fi
film shot for the cost of a used car, so I will choose my words
carefully here: it's better than a Uwe Boll film. Not much better, but
definitely better. Take that whichever way you choose."

DON JUAN (reviewed by Brett Cullum, overall score 45/100):
"Don Juan shouldn't interest anyone, except those who love train wrecks
and miscasting."

EARTHQUAKE: ABOUT GOT DAMM TIME! (reviewed by Mitchell Hattaway, overall
score 70/100):
"What you get here is a killer forty-minute set that has been padded out
with fifteen minutes of marginal-at-best material."

PUT THE CAMERA ON ME (reviewed by Mac McEntire, overall score 77/100):
"This is one of those films where how much you enjoy it depends on what
you take into it personally. OK, that's more or less true for every
movie, but especially so for this one. If you had a childhood similar to
these kids, then the film is a harmless little nostalgia trip, and
nothing more. But if you had a wildly different upbringing, you might be
fascinated -- and even shocked -- by the ideas and statements made by
these young minds."

THE STAIRCASE (reviewed by Bryan Byun, overall score 70/100):
"I won't spoil the outcome of the trial or the juicy twists and turns
along the way, but those looking for salacious details and ample
helpings of sleaze and schadenfreude won't be disappointed."

STARTING OVER (reviewed by Dennis Prince, overall score 76/100):
"Is it right to laugh at the emotional pain and turmoil of others? Of
course not, unless they're already heartily laughing at themselves."
