"Apparently Steinfeld's first order of business was to jettison
Leonard's dialogue and replace it with junk so poorly written it
wouldn't pass muster on a UPN sitcom. He then screwed with the plot,
turned most of the characters into idiotic stereotypes, and added
completely unnecessary scenes (he also removed Leonard's ironic jabs at
the nature of sequels in general)."

"Bizarre wants to preach about the never-ending battle between men and
women, and even tries to connect these gender grapples to the boudoir.
But all this does is give director Antony Balch a chance to stage his
Curious Yellow yawn inducers like elements of a dance hall review."

THE TOMORROW PEOPLE: SET 1 (reviewed by Mac McEntire, overall

"The creators aren't trying to make it 'cool' for the non-fan audience,
and they're not out to dumb it down for the short attention span crowd
either. When the story suddenly jumps ahead 500 years, or a character
announces he's an android in disguise, it's all just another day at the
office for our heroes. And if it's too 'out there' for regular viewers,
then that's just too bad."
