Today, DVD Verdict posted reviews of AIRLINE: THE COMPLETE SEASON ONE,
AIRWOLF: SEASON ONE, CHEERS: THE COMPLETE FIFTH SEASON, HIGHWAY TO HEAVEN: SEASON ONE, HOME MOVIES: SEASON TWO, MACGYVER: THE COMPLETE SECOND SEASON, ONE TREE HILL: THE COMPLETE FIRST SEASON, THE REN AND STIMPY SHOW: SEASONS THREE AND A HALF-ISH, RENO 911: THE COMPLETE SECOND SEASON: UNCENSORED, and TABITHA: THE COMPLETE SERIES: AIRLINE: THE COMPLETE SEASON ONE (reviewed by Adam Arseneau, overall score 73/100): "This is one of the most aggravating reviews I have ever had to write, simply because watching a show based on trepidation and conflict in airports makes my teeth grind. At times, watching it feels akin to actual airline travel, and airline travel is one of the most masochistic forms of bureaucracy devised by humankind to punish us for our collective sins, whatever they may be." FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/airlineseason1.php AIRWOLF: SEASON ONE (reviewed by David Johnson, overall score 85/100): "Rarely have I enjoyed a blast from the past as much as I have Airwolf: Season 1. For the first time, my prepubescent television sensibilities were on the money!" FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/airwolfseason1.php CHEERS: THE COMPLETE FIFTH SEASON (reviewed by Adam Arseneau, overall score 95/100): "Season Five. This is the golden season, the brilliant season, the season where every element becomes incredibly cohesive, well-oiled, perfectly executed, and flawless. Jokes are perfectly timed, the cast is lucid and relaxed with one another, and everything just works on such a profound level that it could make a cynical, jaded sitcom writer weep." FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/cheersseason5.php HIGHWAY TO HEAVEN: SEASON ONE (reviewed by Lacey Worrell, overall score 80/100): "Let's face facts, folks. Give the character of Jonathan a pitchfork, a sweat-stained hat and some suspenders, and set the time back 100 years, and you would have Pa Ingalls." FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/hi...venseason1.php HOME MOVIES: SEASON TWO (reviewed by David Ryan, overall score 96/100): "Although the show's hard-core fans took issue with some of these episodes, the show overall retains the charm and razor-sharp wit it had in the first season. Brendon talks like an adult, but is still very much a kid. What sets Home Movies apart from similar shows is its seamless integration of these two elements of Brendon's personality." FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/homemoviesseason2.php MACGYVER: THE COMPLETE SECOND SEASON (reviewed by David Johnson, overall score 76/100): "The success that this season enjoys entertainment-wise -- and there is a decent amount of amusement to be had here -- derived exclusively from the immense likeability of its show-runner. Richard Dean Anderson exudes that good-guy feel as well as anyone. In fact, I think the success MacGyver enjoys happens in spite of the show itself. Anderson may have distracted us from the relentless assault of cheese with his charm." FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/macgyverseason2.php ONE TREE HILL: THE COMPLETE FIRST SEASON (reviewed by Neal Solon, overall score 89/100): "Throughout its first season, One Tree Hill distinguishes itself from other teen dramas by dealing with more than just the backstabbing, backbiting, and backwards morals of today's youth. Certainly, the show contains its fair share of this petty drama, but it also explores the reasons behind it." FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/on...illseason1.php THE REN AND STIMPY SHOW: SEASONS THREE AND A HALF-ISH (reviewed by Mike Pinsky, overall score 50/100): "As Bob Camp runs out of ideas left over from the Spumco days, his writers become increasingly desperate to fill time. Many people credit the success of 'gross-out' shows like Ren and Stimpy, and its successors like SpongeBob SquarePants, on their bizarre non-sequiturs. But those seemingly random gags only work effectively when anchored to strong characters and tight story structures." FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/renstimpyseason3.php RENO 911: THE COMPLETE SECOND SEASON: UNCENSORED (reviewed by David Johnson, overall score 87/100): "Think This Is Spinal Tap! with guns and badges." FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/reno911season2.php TABITHA: THE COMPLETE SERIES (reviewed by Brett Cullum, overall score 55/100): "Later in their careers, Robert Urich and Lisa Hartman would prove they were adept at more dramatic roles, but here Urich seems to be at a loss how to play comedy, while Hartman is cornered into doing a second-rate impersonation of Elizabeth Montgomery."
