Today, DVD Verdict posted reviews of ANDROMEDIA, ARAKIMENTARI, A
DIFFERENT LOYALTY, FILTHY MCNASTIER / FILTHY MCNASTIEST DOUBLE FEATURE,
PHYSICAL EVIDENCE, PRISON-A-GO-GO!, SWEDISH WILDCATS, TALES OF THE
UNEXPLAINED, THE THRILLBILLYS, and TOM AND FRANCIE:

ANDROMEDIA (reviewed by Bryan Byun, overall score 40/100):
"Miike takes classic cyberpunk themes like artificial intelligence,
virtual reality, and high-tech megacorporate crime, and wraps them up in
a lightweight teen romance starring Japanese pop stars, complete with a
performance by J-pop boy band Da Pump. The resulting film is about as
cheesy as you might expect, and doesn't even approach plausibility, but
as a disposable teenybopper fantasy it's not entirely horrible --
especially for a film featuring a band called 'Da Pump.'"

ARAKIMENTARI (reviewed by Mac McEntire, overall score 72/100):
"There's a fascinating documentary hidden somewhere in Arakimentari, but
it's buried under the film's onslaught of bad-taste porn and lewd
behavior."

A DIFFERENT LOYALTY (reviewed by Mitchell Hattaway, overall score
50/100):
"Everett comes off better, especially when he doesn't have to share the
screen with Stone, but you'd think by now he'd have learned to stay away
from blondes who are past their prime."

FILTHY MCNASTIER / FILTHY MCNASTIEST DOUBLE FEATURE (reviewed by Bill
Gibron, overall score 85/100):
"He's obviously deconstructing the entire breast as sex object syndrome
that seems to dominate any discussion of female physicality. But by
flaunting and making fun of it, Filthy McNastier is pointing out how
really foolish such a standard is."

FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/nastiest.php

PHYSICAL EVIDENCE (reviewed by Mitchell Hattaway, overall score 50/100):
"Russell is equally bad, but at least you could argue that she was
miscast. Really, why the hell would you cast Theresa Russell as a stuffy
lawyer? Better yet, why cast her in a role that doesn't call for nudity?
(Sorry about that.)"

PRISON-A-GO-GO! (reviewed by David Johnson, overall score 68/100):
"Prison-A-Go-Go! features B-movie queens, gratuitous shower sequences,
superfluous ninja attacks, and zombies. Hello Academy Award!"

FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/prisonagogo.php

SWEDISH WILDCATS (reviewed by Paul Corupe, overall score 74/100):
"While more of a curiosity than an essential sexploitation classic,
Swedish Wildcats has a passable story and enough Swedish skin to appeal
to Sarno fans."

TALES OF THE UNEXPLAINED (reviewed by David Johnson, overall
score 65/100):
"We've got some stories on reincarnation, a few testimonials about life
after death (where -- believe it or not -- they saw the light!), and a
special segment devoted to an out-of-body experience by Erik Estrada."

FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/talesunexplained.php

THE THRILLBILLYS (reviewed by Dennis Prince, overall score 55/100):
"Other filmmakers have proven time again that you don't need (or
necessarily want) major studio backing to bring forth a picture that
will have folks talking for a long time to come. Many of these
filmmakers started with nothing, made some little films of their own as
learning tools, and then kept those stuffed away because they were the
equivalent of diner napkin doodles. Stramel, however, thinks his doodles
are of interest to others; they're not."

FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/thrillbillys.php

TOM AND FRANCIE (reviewed by Bill Gibron, overall score 74/100):
"The real stars here are the puppets themselves, entities that could
have been monopolized and merchandised with names like Angry Bunny, Mick
Irish, and Mother Appreciation. They are pitch perfect, the kind of
corrupted icons you except from a kid vid lampoon like this."
