I am using my DVD writer to archive many files such as books and
music. The DVD+R is listed as having a 4.7GB capacity, but when I
write to it with data, using Nero, I cannot seem to fit more than bout
3.5GB on it.
All files are in folders placed in the root directory with names such
as "John Grisham - The Client", "Beethoven - Nine Symphonies", or
"Earth Wind & Fire - Greatest Hits".. The files under these folders
are all mp3 files with book chapters, symphonic movements, or groups
of songs in the album.
The DVDR disks are Spin-X brand; the writer is a Pacific Digital 8X
multi+-format. I an using Nero Burning ROM version 6. When I try to
populate closer to 4.7GB into the DVD+R, it tells me the files are too
large to fit on the DVD.
Can anyone help me to figure out why am using nearly 25% of the
capacity of the DVD+R?
