.bin help

Hi

I recently downloaded a film off the net. When I uncompressed it, it was in
the form of a .bin file. I'm not sure what this is or what software I need
to watch it.

A .bin file is an image (file) of a DVD/CD disc.

Alcohol program set up a "virtual" DVD/cd drive for me. I right-click
on the drive letter and "mount" an image file. I can then play the
movie directly, without manually extracting (and doubling up hard-drive
space).

I'm sure there are other ways of viewing an image file. Can't think of
any other programs for this quickie response ...

Actually a .bin file can be ANY kind of binary file.
