Stupidest idea in a long time
That's all we need is for the marketers
to "forget" which chips are flawed, or the grey market to start getting flooded with CRAP that has failed a test. The companies might save money, but it won't translate to consumers and they are the ones who will pay for this. Wonder why your cheap DVD player needs to be unplugged and then plugged back in to start reading DVDs properly again.....? http://wired.com/news/gizmos/0,1452,66928,00.html RichA |

Yes. It would be better to just improve the production process than tolerate
defective items.
