TRIES HIS BEST/CLIFFORD'S SCHOOLHOUSE, FAT ALBERT, THE FINAL CUT, FUNKY

BEAUSOLEIL: LIVE FROM THE NEW ORLEANS JAZZ AND HERITAGE FESTIVAL
(reviewed by Steve Evans, overall score 85/100):
"Invite some friends. Goose that amplifier. Then serve up this disc with
shrimp po'boys on crunchy baguettes and plenty of iced Dixie Blackened
Voodoo Lager."

CLIFFORD THE BIG RED DOG: CLIFFORD TRIES HIS BEST/CLIFFORD'S SCHOOLHOUSE
(reviewed by Bryan Pope, overall score 80/100):
"I'm happy to report that Clifford the Big Red Dog has been lifted from
his pages without losing so much as one ounce of charm. Sure, Clifford
speaks now, but as voiced by the late, great John Ritter, Clifford is
still as gentle and appealing as ever."

FAT ALBERT (reviewed by Brett Cullum, overall score 65/100):
"There are quite a few excellent DVD packages of the original show, and
unfortunately I would have liked to see those instead of Fat Albert the
movie. And I have a bad feelings a lot of kids would be with me on this
one. So 'Hey! Hey! Hey! Let's find the old cartoons to play!' This one
is just another example of the pointless remake that offers little of
the original's charm."

THE FINAL CUT (reviewed by Adam Arseneau, overall score 84/100):
"The Final Cut excels at bringing up interesting issue after interesting
issue, followed by compelling social puzzles, and rounded off with a few
head-scratching questions."

FUNKY METERS: LIVE FROM THE NEW ORLEANS JAZZ AND HERITAGE FESTIVAL
(reviewed by Joel Pearce, overall score 84/100):
"These musicians are skilled masters and consummate professionals. They
make their playing seem completely effortless, but it never looks like
they are bored. These guys clearly live to be on stage performing; they
adapt to each other without missing a beat."

IRON AND SILK (reviewed by David Johnson, overall score 78/100):
"There are no assassination attempts, or wild getaways, or hot
seductions of female Chinese spies to gather classified intelligence.
Nor does there need to be. This isn't a film of an outrageous, hard-
hitting story. This is the journey of a man to a foreign place, to a
culture he has only read about."

THE PERFECT MURDER (reviewed by Brett Cullum, overall score 85/100):
"I thoroughly enjoyed the feature, and think its a great light mystery
with a lot of charming comedy running through it. So put some chutney on
your popcorn and go for it. Just don't expect a serious film like
Howard's End or Room With a View and you'll be fine."

THE PIRATE MOVIE (reviewed by Eric Profancik, overall score 90/100):
"The songs are really sappy, tacky, and goofy, yet they're also well
done. Each has a catchy melody, is performed well, and advances the
plot. And even more sinister than that, the songs will stick with you
and you'll hear them in your head all day. That's the sign of good
song writing!"

RETURN TO SIN CITY: A TRIBUTE TO GRAM PARSONS (reviewed by Mitchell
Hattaway, overall score 92/100):
"'Ooh Las Vegas' is a nice closer, but the best moment of the night has
to be 'Wild Horses,' a song Gram recorded a year before the Stones
released their version. This version of the song is quite possibly the
best I've ever heard (with the possible exception of the Sunday's cover
back in 1992). Absolutely amazing."

TRIM AND TONE: 20 MINUTE WORKOUT (reviewed by David Johnson, overall
score 80/100):
"Mayhew exudes the charisma of a birch tree, but he's got the know-how."
