Ritek, the second largest manufacturer of optical discs in Taiwan, on
March announced that it has obtained certification for 8x DVD+RW discs
from Philips Electronics, the first one in Taiwan and the second one
next to the self-developer Philips in the world.
Ritek will exhibit its blue laser High-Definition DVD (HD-DVD) optical
discs, the 15GB HD-DVD/R, 20GB HD-DVD/RW and 16x DVD+R/-R, 4x DVD+R DL
(single-sided double-layer) as well as 5x DVD-RAM and 6x DVD-RW at the
2005 CeBIT in Hannover, Germany, according to Ritek.
In addition to optical discs, Ritek will also exhibit consumer
electronics product lines including MP3 players, flash memory cards,
mini writers (recording photos, video and audio information from
memory cards onto optical discs and playing back).
