Today, DVD Verdict posted reviews of DEADLY DUELS, THE FRESH PRINCE OF
BEL-AIR: THE COMPLETE FIRST SEASON, FULL HOUSE: THE COMPLETE FIRST
SEASON, GOD, THE DEVIL, AND BOB: THE COMPLETE SERIES, IN THE FOOTSTEPS
OF ALEXANDER THE GREAT, THE SHIELD: THE COMPLETE THIRD SEASON, SOMETHING
THE LORD MADE, STAR WARS: CLONE WARS, VOLUME 1, and STEPHEN KING
PRESENTS KINGDOM HOSPITAL:

DEADLY DUELS (reviewed by Erick Harper, overall score 72/100):
"Perhaps I am in the minority, but I would have enjoyed seeing more time
spent on tactics and weapons than on the nature of insults that might
lead to a duel. The whole enterprise loses some steam about halfway
through the second program with the introduction of firearms. Let's face
it: pistol duels aren't nearly as interesting or fun."

THE FRESH PRINCE OF BEL-AIR: THE COMPLETE FIRST SEASON (reviewed by
Sandra Dozier, overall score 80/100):
"It was Will Smith's first acting job, and the sitcoms of the late
eighties and early nineties have a certain cheese factor that usually
dates them unkindly. However, while the show is still firmly dated by
its subject matter and you can clearly see how much Smith's craft has
improved since those early days, the show itself is still as much of a
gut-buster and all-out fun time now as it was then."

FULL HOUSE: THE COMPLETE FIRST SEASON (reviewed by David Johnson,
overall score 80/100):
"This is a show with some staying power. For a marginally funny program
nearly two decades old, it seems to be ubiquitous on my television
screen. This I think is a testament to the bizarre, almost supernatural
appeal it holds. I've always found it strangely watchable, despite (or
maybe because of) the oppressive corniness."

GOD, THE DEVIL, AND BOB: THE COMPLETE SERIES (reviewed by Patrick
Naugle, overall score 56/100):
"The show meanders from episode to episode as one of the title
characters (Bob) deals with not only his family issues, but also being
the pawn in a game of existence for God and the Devil's amusement. I
laughed maybe twice, and that was only because I'd been silent for so
long that I wanted to remember what laughter sounded like."

IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF ALEXANDER THE GREAT (reviewed by Joel Pearce,
overall score 86/100):
"Most of the areas depicted are still quite barren, so have not changed
much since Alexander's life. This is a far more vivid way to explore the
past than looking at the path on a map."

THE SHIELD: THE COMPLETE THIRD SEASON (reviewed by David Johnson,
overall score 90/100):
"It makes NYPD Blue seem like Blue's Clues."

SOMETHING THE LORD MADE (reviewed by Joel Pearce, overall score 94/100):
"Something the Lord Made is set against a backdrop of prejudice, and
never glosses over the injustices done to men like Thomas, but it spends
more energy celebrating his remarkable accomplishments."

STAR WARS: CLONE WARS, VOLUME 1 (reviewed by David Johnson, overall
score 92/100):
"This disc is a must-own for Star Wars fans. That point is not
debatable. Even if you're one of the cranky coots who loathe every
nanosecond of the prequel trilogy, Clone Wars still qualifies as
top-notch."

STEPHEN KING PRESENTS KINGDOM HOSPITAL (reviewed by Bill Gibron, overall
score 93/100):
"While it may play like a retread of hundreds of other King creations,
Kingdom Hospital still manages to maintain its own individual integrity
thanks to the skill of the man behind the pen. In the long list of hits
and misses, flops and finery, this is one of our man from Maine's
shiniest hours."
