DVD plays in player not in computer

Hi:

I made a backup of a dvd that plays in the RCA dvd player I own
wihtout any problems.

But is not recognized by PowerDVD or by my Windows 98SE (windows
explorer).

Whe I try to view the contents of this dvd it gives me a message about
not being ready or accesible.


This appears to be happening on some dvds I picked up rather cheaply
....I have had no problems with name brand DVDs or ven shiny silver
generics...just these weird blue ones....

Works in both DVD players in the house but can't be seen in powerdvd
or explorer in the computer.

Any help is appreciated.

Probably the media. I've had that happen once with a Memorex disc. It
plays in the Panasonic recorder and another DVD player, but my
computer doesn't recognize the disc. About half the Memorex discs I've
recorded and finalized have had errors though, so it wasn't a big
surprise.

If only such an error could be duplicated when you want to. It would
be a way of protecting the discs from copying.
