I have never had this problem before when creating SVCD's with Nero, but
here goes. If I use Nerovision express to re-encode an avi file to SVCD, all seems to go well, the resultant disc plays fine in all my DVD/SVCD players but with the irritating fact that iot has taken what looks like a 16:9 image and "squashed" it into a 4:3 image. The result being a video that whilst plays fine (sounds is usually excellent, depening on the source of course) everybody looks like they got really tall and skinny all of a sudden. I have tried creating a disc using automatic for the aspect, i have tried manually setting the aspect ratio to both 4:3 & 16:9 and nothing seems to have an effect. Normally this would indicate it is the players that are at fault, but I have tried the discs in both my Pioneer 420 & my Cyberhome player, same result. Is this just a "side-effect" of Nerovision, or is there something drastically wrong somewhere? Soupladel Soupladel |

Make MPEGS and then burn with Nero using the VideoCD option. HTH... Kill Bill |

Have you tried selecting 16:9 from 'Video Options'? (kim) kim |

I have tried setting "options" to both 4:3 and 16:9 and there is no difference! Soupladel Soupladel |

Svcd is encoded as 576 pixel in height and 480 in width this on playback would be converted back from 3:2 to 2:3 ratio. Which is not happening in your case. My own DVD stand alone players do this fine but Viewed on the PC John Wayne Is tall and slim. Trev |
