Did anyone catch that bit on the Today Show about Superbowl Parties?
First, they went on for several minutes explaining what HDTV was - not really explaining as much as saying, "it's like TV only better" - as though nobody had heard of HDTV. Then, they talked about DVD players as something new that no one had heard of, but then said "and these DVDs are high definition as well". Do some research people. Bill Bill Binder |

When I converted to digital about 4 months ago, neither one of these provider's installation techs had any idea how to hook up my DVD recorder. They were in awe that the thing actually has a built-in hard drive. Talk about being a little behind the times! I ended up hooking everything up myself. My provider has still not figured out how to code DVD players to their modems for automatic recording - the process I have to use is very convoluted. Rob Canada ShadowRaptor |

Even the people they use for sending liveshots of guests from around the country back to New York are clueless. I work for a broadcasting company with stations in Providence, RI, and we had Richard Hatch in as a guest host for our local newstalk radio station there right after he won Survivor for a week. The Today Show sent some people to do a setup for a liveshot with him on I believe either monday or was it tuesday (blur) and they were like little children let let loose in a candy store. That was the worst morning imaginable. We were in the process of producing our own morning radio program and they were constantly underfoot asking stupid questions like where could we put Richard, the best way to light it, blah blah blah. I swear to God as soon as the liveshot was over we couldn't get them out the door fast enough. Since then we've never allowed another video crew from anywhere to have that much control over us and our facility as the Today Show got that day. Joe Phillips |
