captureing scenes from diffrent dvd's

Guys
Is there a way that I can capture certain scenes from dvd's. I have some
dvd's of my kids playing sport and I just want to capture certain scenes
from diffrent dvd's and make one dvd with all the highlights form others

I just started using the freeware program DVD Shrink
(http://www.dvdshrink.org) and one of it's features is you can select
areas of a video you want to rip to the hard drive when you Re-Author
the disc. For my intial test run I was able to rip just the first :30
Opening Sequence from the first Title which was about 50 minutes long.
After you rip all your dvd segments over to the hard drive if you have
Nero installed you can use DVD Shrink's internal burning option to
rejoin all those ripped files back onto a new dvd. When you rip to the
hard drive you have the option of creating VOB and all those other
files or rip as an ISO image.
