I'm sure this question has been asked a million times before,
but is there any quick way to get past the "prohibited operations" section of a DVD and get directly to the movie? Perhaps this varies with the players, but I'm not aware of any player that touts this capability. Help much appreciated! Frank frank1492 |

Some of them are nice and let you just hit the "menu" button to escape. Others I've found that hitting the "next" button will start the movie. Patrick Michael |

Disney and Walmart are just like AOL and Time Warner. They are falling apart under their own weight. Donald Link |

DVD Shrink can do that. Mike Jackson Editor & Web Developer, DVD Verdict www.dvdverdict.com Mike Jackson |

Most discs will allow you, one way or another, to bypass the preview screens. Dan Dan P. |

Usually at least one of the three will let you skip or fast forward through at least some of the junk. Or put the DVD in, go get a snack and when you get back it should be ready to go. - -Jon Purkey - <) For a quicker reply by email please use the address found here: http://tinyurl.com/o8ka Jon Purkey |

I immediately make a copy with DVD Shrink/Nero, store the original and use the copy. I very rarely have any interest in the extras, fancy menus etc. I just copy the movie. Fairly quick and painless. I also have a dedicated 300GB external HD that is solely used to storing all my backup copies in case the "original" copy gets trashed by the kids. I can then use Nero to make another copy chop chop.
