When referring to music , promos are often given out to shops , radio
stations etc in advance of general release.
They are often on CDR with a plain white label.
Some genuine ones can be quite valuable but in the main they aren't , and
they don't always have the same content as the eventual release.
Promo DVDs do also exist , but you are just as likely to find that it's a
pirate copy that someone is trying to sell as a genuine promo.
