Today, DVD Verdict posted reviews of CINDERFELLA, CLINTON AND NADINE,
COLD FEET, THE ED WOOD BOX, GOING HOLLYWOOD: THE WAR YEARS, HELLO KITTY
AND FRIENDS: HOLIDAY FUN, A HOME AT THE END OF THE WORLD, MEET THE
PARENTS: BONUS EDITION, THE RADLEY METZGER COLLECTION (VOLUME 1), THE
SOFT KILL, SPECIES III, and UNSTOPPABLE:

CINDERFELLA (reviewed by Bill Gibron, overall score 78/100):
"While it can be said that the script by Frank Tashlin (the ex-Warner's
animation genius also directed the film) does a good job of turning the
classic feminine wish-fulfillment tale into a matter of male identity,
there is simply too much sloppy syrup here and not enough Le Genius
insanity. We want to see Jerry Lewis going apesh*t for 90 minutes, not
musing over his ill-considered lot in life."

CLINTON AND NADINE (reviewed by Elizabeth Skipper, overall score
40/100):
"I consider myself a fairly intelligent person and I tried very hard to
pay attention to the movie, but apparently I'm no match for a plot this
unintelligible (and not in the artistic, 'decide what really happened
for yourself' kind of way, either). Or perhaps it was much more
simplistic than I gave it credit for, and I was looking for something
more. To be sure, I'd have to watch it again, and I just don't hate
myself enough to do that."

COLD FEET (reviewed by Erick Harper, overall score 55/100):
"For the most part, though, Cold Feet is a long, boring trip, and even
Waits's psycho routine grows stale after about four or five attempts to
use it to create some sort of interest."

THE ED WOOD BOX (reviewed by Bill Gibron, overall score 76/100):
"Are you paying attention yet? Okay? Good, 'cause here we go (deep
breath): ED WOOD IS NOT THE WORST DIRECTOR OF ALL TIME. There, it's been
said. This critic did it, and he's damn proud."

GOING HOLLYWOOD: THE WAR YEARS (reviewed by Barrie Maxwell, overall
score 70/100):
"The documentary packs a lot of material in its modest running time and
introduces a lot of films that I suspect viewers will want to know more
about or perhaps view in full. Unfortunately, virtually none of them are
identified by title, although some players are named."

HELLO KITTY AND FRIENDS: HOLIDAY FUN (reviewed by Sandra Dozier, overall
score 75/100):
"Although this is billed as a holiday set, these episodes are good for
year-round enjoyment, even if most of them deal with winter themes."

FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/hellokittyholiday.php

A HOME AT THE END OF THE WORLD (reviewed by Elizabeth Skipper, overall
score 73/100):
"I don't know how a screenplay adapted by Michael Cunningham (author of
The Hours, which I adore in both novel and movie form) from his own
novel could go so wrong, but A Home at the End of the World proves that
I should never judge a movie by its author."

FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/homeatendworld.php

MEET THE PARENTS: BONUS EDITION (reviewed by Patrick Naugle, overall
score 78/100):
"If you haven't seen Meet The Parents yet, this is as good a time as any
to check it out. And if you did see it and weren't impressed, I'd urge
you to give it another look on DVD -- like myself, you may found
yourself laughing harder than you anticipated."

THE RADLEY METZGER COLLECTION (VOLUME 1) (reviewed by Rob Lineberger,
overall score 60/100):
"Because of its intricate flashback structure, careful use of light and
shadow, moving score, and other classic touches, Therese and Isabelle
breaks into the rarefied art film category. The tale is unhurried,
though the erotic subtext is established early. We ache as the tension
builds between the two lovers."

THE SOFT KILL (reviewed by David Johnson, overall score 63/100):
"I'll get the salacious portion of the review out of the way. A little
over an hour in, for about twenty seconds, Carrie-Ann Moss rolls around
topless in the dark. There you go. Trinity's boobs. End of story. Read
on if you care."

SPECIES III (reviewed by Patrick Naugle, overall score 54/100):
"There is no mistaking it: Species III is the worst kind of bottom-of-the-
barrel, straight-to-DVD fodder. I mean, it's not Shannon Tweed Body
Chemistry 4: Full Exposure bad, but it's pretty close."

FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/species3.php

UNSTOPPABLE (reviewed by David Johnson, overall score 75/100):
"Anyway, as Cage tries to outrun his pursuers, they yell up at him
'You're on fire!' and POOF! he starts to see flames on his legs. Two
questions. One, why are the flames restricted to his legs? And two, how
come these stupid idiots don't suggest something useful, like 'You're
asleep!' or 'Your feet are made of concrete!' or 'You're a little
schoolgirl with a trumpet for a nose and pockets full of happiness and
we've got your chinchilla down here and we all want to play a game of
Battleship together!'"
