Default DVD Verdict reviews: ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS, CARTOON NETWORK CHRISTMAS: YULETIDE FOLLIES, and more!

Today, DVD Verdict posted reviews of ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS, CARTOON
NETWORK CHRISTMAS: YULETIDE FOLLIES, DANGEROUS SEDUCTRESS, FLY BY NIGHT,
GRIEF, THE HEALER, THE JACKHAMMER MASSACRE, STRIKE FORCE, and TANGERINE
DREAM: LIVE IN AMERICA 1992:

ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS (reviewed by Patrick Naugle, overall
score 48/100):
"There are good Christmas movies, and there are bad Christmas movies.
And then there is something like 1991's All I Want For Christmas -- a
movie that isn't 'bad' in the classical sense of the word, and yet
isn't very good, either. I'm not exactly sure who this movie was made
for: kids, adults, teens, or elderly folks who've slipped into a
diabetic coma."

CARTOON NETWORK CHRISTMAS: YULETIDE FOLLIES (reviewed by Dennis Prince,
overall score 85/100):
"Once again enlisting the services of its most recognizable characters
(for better or for worse -- you decide), this new disc is a bit fresher
than that decorative dish of carbon-dated ribbon candy that's collecting
dust on your entry hall table, and certainly more appetizing than the
network's Halloween hack-job."

DANGEROUS SEDUCTRESS (reviewed by David Johnson, overall score 73/100):
"Here we have another low-budget horror movie courtesy of H. Tjut
Tjalil, the genius behind Lady Terminator. Both films share a similar
plot involving big-breasted, unstoppable killing machines, ultra-cheesy
special effects, and lots of gunfire and explosions."

FLY BY NIGHT (reviewed by Lacey Worrell, overall score 60/100):
"Fly by Night is one of those disappointing movies with potential that
it never quite delivers. There are a few flashes of brilliance,
particularly in the high-energy performance scenes, but the story itself
is far from compelling."

GRIEF (reviewed by George Hatch, overall score 20/100):
"Someone was desperate for a cheap five-and-dime laugh, and the film
itself is empty-pocketed and cents-less."

FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/grief.php

THE HEALER (reviewed by Amanda DeWees, overall score 68/100):
"Traumas and arguments pile on top of each other without pause, so that
we are jerked from one emotional scene to the next without time to
absorb or react to the emotional content. This hurry-hurry style
seriously undermines the emotional impact of the story."

THE JACKHAMMER MASSACRE (reviewed by David Johnson, overall score
71/100):
"It goes without saying (but hey I'll say it anyway) that Castro
certainly goes over the top with his imagery -- e.g., Jack's spectral
best friend, his outrageous transformation into a brutal killer -- but
what do you expect from a film with the words 'jackhammer' and
'massacre' in the title?"

FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/ja...ermassacre.php

STRIKE FORCE (reviewed by David Johnson, overall score 59/100):
"Aside from telling you -- falsely -- that there are fifty-dollar bills
and Polaroids of Jimmy Hoffa and Bigfoot eating a picnic lunch together
included in the disc case, I don't think there's much I can say to
convince you to check this moronic movie out."

FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/strikeforce.php

TANGERINE DREAM: LIVE IN AMERICA 1992 (reviewed by Eric Profancik,
overall score 60/100):
"Tangerine Dream's members looked like the future of the world depended
on a precise and perfect performance of their music. If they failed,
then we'd all die. And where's the fun in that?"
