Looks like some small video places are selling the EE already! Some
reviews are popping up from folks that have bought it, mostly in the
Movie forum message boards at www.tolkienonline.com and theonering.net.

Some surprises to me:


SPOILERS!!!!















No epilogue-in fact, there is no new material after Mt. Doom

No new Arwen material

There's a new drinking game sequence at Rohan in the beginning between
Gimli and Legolas in which the dwarf farts, burps, and eventually loses
to Legolas, who concludes the contest by declaring "Game over".

Aragorn heals Eowyn, but not Faramir

The new Saruman sequence at the beginning is very good, but at the end
he does indeed get impaled on a large spiked wheel

We do not see Faramir and Eowyn kiss or get married (they do snuggle,
though!)

The Mouth of Sauron sequence is apparently pretty good, at least untl
Aragorn gets fed up with the Mouth's evil talk and and chops off his
head in mid-sentence.

The Paths of the Dead sequence has been extended to include an
earthquake and an avalanche of skulls which nearly engulf Our Heroes.

Eowyn and Gothmog (the puffy-looking Orc) fight after she slays the
Witch King.

So far it appears the character who benefits the most from the EE is
Denethor.

All in all, a mixed bag pretty much, like the other EEs. I expect this
will provide fodder for discussion for another month at least!
