How do standalone recorders go about cutting out commercials? How do you
edit video with them? Mine has the ability te edit out anything you want afterwards. It's very
simple.... if you read the manual. It was very difficult before that...LOL You have to place chapter markers where you need them. One before the commercial....one after. Then make the resulting chapter hidden. When you watch it back, any DVD player will skip over the hidden chapter. Dave,,, Yours won't do chapter markers on a DVD+R? I wonder why? Mine does
it just fine. I can do more with an RW disc but it will at least do chapter edits. Pause works very well on the combo units. On my Panasonic VCR/DVDR hitting DVD REC unpauses the tape so I get clean cuts before and after the commercials. Doing it with separate units would be more tricky as you'd have to juggle remotes and the on-screen text from the VCR (PLAY, etc.) would get recorded. A DVDR with a hard drive would be the best option if you have the $$ and a good VCR already. - -Jon Purkey - <) For a quicker reply by email please use the address found here: http://tinyurl.com/o8ka Jon Purkey |
