Today, DVD Verdict posted reviews of CAMBRIDGE SPIES, CRANK YANKERS:
SEASON ONE UNCENSORED, DOCTOR WHO: PYRAMIDS OF MARS, JUSTICE LEAGUE: THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD, KEEPING UP APPEARANCES: THE FULL BOUQUET, LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE: THE COMPLETE SIXTH SEASON, MAD TV: THE COMPLETE FIRST SEASON, POPULAR MECHANICS FOR KIDS: RIP-ROARING ROLLER COASTERS AND ALL ACCESS TO FUN, POPULAR MECHANICS FOR KIDS: SUPER SEA CREATURES AND AWESOME OCEAN ADVENTURES, PUNK'D: THE COMPLETE SECOND SEASON, STAR TREK: VOYAGER, SEASON FOUR, TAXI: THE COMPLETE FIRST SEASON, 21 JUMP STREET: THE COMPLETE FIRST SEASON, WHAT'S NEW, SCOOBY-DOO?: MERRY SCARY HOLIDAY (VOLUME 4), WILDBOYZ: THE COMPLETE FIRST SEASON, and WILL AND GRACE: THE COMPLETE THIRD SEASON: CAMBRIDGE SPIES (reviewed by Adam Arseneau, overall score 72/100): "Naked men and espionage: It's a winning combination." FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/cambridgespies.php CRANK YANKERS: SEASON ONE UNCENSORED (reviewed by Brett Cullum, overall score 88/100): "Tasteless and cruel is still damn funny." FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/cr...ersseason1.php DOCTOR WHO: PYRAMIDS OF MARS (reviewed by Eric Profancik, overall score 78/100): "I am totally perplexed by this story, one of the most popular of all Tom's adventures. I can see the ingredients for its popularity, but, for me, they all fall flat." FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/drwhopyramids.php JUSTICE LEAGUE: THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD (reviewed by Aaron Bossig, overall score 95/100): "In both stories, it's clear that the show is made by adults who have spent their whole lives reading comics, and who realize how fortunate they are to be able to bring their beloved characters to the screen. Justice League isn't a show born out of focus groups and hack writers, designed only to sell action figures: It's a show made for people who love superheroes, from any era." FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/ju...aveandbold.php KEEPING UP APPEARANCES: THE FULL BOUQUET (reviewed by Paul Corupe, overall score 87/100): "While many beloved Britcom characters are truly arrogant, none have surpassed the mind-boggling pretentiousness of Keeping Up Appearances's Hyacinth Bucket, perhaps the most ludicrous aristocratic sycophant ever seen on the small screen." FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/kuafullbouquet.php LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE: THE COMPLETE SIXTH SEASON (reviewed by Lacey Worrell, overall score 80/100): "Because later seasons featured a young Shannen Dougherty and countless other superfluous characters that were merely a product of Michael Landon's imagination, this is the last good season of the Little House on the Prairie television show." FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/li...useseason6.php MAD TV: THE COMPLETE FIRST SEASON (reviewed by David Ryan, overall score 88/100): "Sketches rarely run longer than three minutes, which is plenty of time to hammer home the comedy of the premise, but not enough time to let things drift into the danger zone. It also makes the show pretty snappy -- things move along quickly, and you never feel trapped inside a bad sketch. (I'm looking at you again, SNL...)" FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/madtvseason1.php POPULAR MECHANICS FOR KIDS: RIP-ROARING ROLLER COASTERS AND ALL ACCESS TO FUN (reviewed by Lacey Worrell, overall score 85/100): "Out of all the Popular Mechanics for Kids DVDs I've viewed, this one has the most commercial feel, which kids may love, but for which parents may feel some disdain." FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/pmkcoaster.php POPULAR MECHANICS FOR KIDS: SUPER SEA CREATURES AND AWESOME OCEAN ADVENTURES (reviewed by Lacey Worrell, overall score 85/100): "When the hosts are described as 'fearless,' this is not an understatement. These kids not only narrate each segment with the ease and confidence of professionals, they are unafraid to leap into the water with sharks, scuba dive, or snorkel in what looks to be frigid water." FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/pmkocean.php PUNK'D: THE COMPLETE SECOND SEASON (reviewed by Lacey Worrell, overall score 65/100): "From planning to implementation, the viewer is left with an appreciation for how necessary it is to pay attention to detail and timing if the stunts are to be successfully pulled off." FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/punkdseason2.php STAR TREK: VOYAGER, SEASON FOUR (reviewed by Eric Profancik, overall score 85/100): "In a dynamic that would mirror the overuse of Data in The Next Generation, Seven become the stimulus for Voyager. Not only was she positively drop-dead gorgeous, but she was also the irritant needed to bring tension back to the ship." FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/voyseason4.php TAXI: THE COMPLETE FIRST SEASON (reviewed by Neil Dorsett, overall score 93/100): "I sometimes find Taxi more enjoyable when I'm not actually looking at it, although of course if I do that I miss all those patented Judd Hirsch surprise takes. What does all this mean? Nothing. Never mind." FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/taxiseason1.php 21 JUMP STREET: THE COMPLETE FIRST SEASON (reviewed by David Johnson, overall score 83/100): "There must be an infinite number of schools in Jump Street's jurisdiction for the same four kids to go undercover and not be spotted. You would think word would spread about a new police initiative placing young-looking narcs in schools." FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/21...eetseason1.php WHAT'S NEW, SCOOBY-DOO?: MERRY SCARY HOLIDAY (VOLUME 4) (reviewed by Lacey Worrell, overall score 85/100): "The evil snowman in the opening episode, although far too scary for children under the age of five, is a terrific creation, reminiscent of the Chucky doll from the Child's Play movies. If there isn't already an officially designated snowman phobia, this episode may just inspire one." FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/scoobydoomerry.php WILDBOYZ: THE COMPLETE FIRST SEASON (reviewed by David Johnson, overall score 89/100): "Each episode finds our intrepid explorers placing themselves in harm's way, for little reason other than to impress the audience. Hey, I'm fine with that. Watching Pontius sneaking up on a jaguar to pet him (?!) or snagging a cookie from a deadly rattlesnake is good watchin' despite the utter pointlessness of it." FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/wildboyzseason1.php WILL AND GRACE: THE COMPLETE THIRD SEASON (reviewed by Elizabeth Skipper, overall score 94/100): "The biggest complaint I've heard about Will & Grace is that it's not 'gay' enough. And, sure, Will almost never dates and same-sex intimacy is rare, but if words were actions, W&G would be more flaming than Queer as Folk. They may not show much homosexuality, but they sure know how to write one-liners about it."
