Today, DVD Verdict posted reviews of CHILDREN OF THE CORN: DIVIMAX
EDITION, CHRISTINE: SPECIAL EDITION, CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON: THE
LEGACY COLLECTION, CREEPSHOW 2: DIVIMAX EDITION, DAWN OF THE DEAD
(2004), GINGER SNAPS BACK: THE BEGINNING, RESIDENT EVIL: DELUXE EDITION,
and SCREAM THEATER DOUBLE FEATURE VOLUME 2: THE LAST SLUMBER PARTY /
TERROR AT TENKILLER:

CHILDREN OF THE CORN: DIVIMAX EDITION (reviewed by Brett Cullum, overall
score 79/100):
"One of the reasons the movie is not as scary as it could have been is
that we see the kids too much. They come across as out-of-control
zealots who seem comical even as they're cutting each other and drinking
blood from corn bowls."

CHRISTINE: SPECIAL EDITION (reviewed by Mitchell Hattaway, overall
score 85/100):
"Admittedly, the premise of this story is pretty hard to swallow. I
mean, come on, a possessed car? (The film wisely never attempts to
explain the origin of Christine's powers; what explanation could
possible work?) To his credit, Carpenter is able to achieve the
right tone."

CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON: THE LEGACY COLLECTION (reviewed by
Dennis Prince, overall score 96/100):
"Listening to Weaver and Burns is an absolute joy. The two offer such
fun and informative discussions on all aspects of the productions such
that even the most commentary-adverse among us would be hard-pressed to
resist the two men's infectious passion for these films."

CREEPSHOW 2: DIVIMAX EDITION (reviewed by Paul Corupe, overall
score 76/100):
"Coming five years after the original, Creepshow 2 is not even close to
matching the ghoulish glee of the original, but it still has some
moments of interest. With Romero and King's names still associated with
the production (although in a much smaller capacity), horror fans have
helped to give the film a faithful cult following on home video."

DAWN OF THE DEAD (2004) (reviewed by Patrick Naugle, overall
score 89/100):
"Action fans looking for cars crashing through buildings, buses equipped
with chainsaws barreling down the highway, or lots of guns going off
won't be disappointed. Likewise, horror buffs will thrill to heads
exploding, torsos ripped in half, and lots of oozy, gooey blood flowing
through the streets of Wisconsin like milky red cheese curds."

GINGER SNAPS BACK: THE BEGINNING (reviewed by Brett Cullum, overall
score 85/100):
"The makers of the Ginger Snaps films deserve some kind of award for
constantly reinventing their franchise in a genre where most are content
to repeatedly produce the same product ad nauseum (yeah, Friday the 13th
and Halloween -- I'm looking at you)."

RESIDENT EVIL: DELUXE EDITION (reviewed by Amanda DeWees, overall
score 93/100):
"Until I saw it, I myself would never have guessed I'd become such a fan
of Resident Evil: I'm a Jane Austen-reading, non-video-game-playing, non-horror-movie-
watching girly girl, and normally I curl my lip at the idea of a zombie
flick. But this one completely won me over. I would call it a guilty
pleasure, but I refuse to feel guilty for admiring this well-crafted,
visually striking movie."

SCREAM THEATER DOUBLE FEATURE VOLUME 2: THE LAST SLUMBER PARTY / TERROR
AT TENKILLER (reviewed by David Johnson, overall score 60/100):
"Let's start off with the universal attributes of both movies, then
delve into them individually. First, they both suck. Real hard."
