Today, DVD Verdict posted reviews of ANGEL: THE COMPLETE THIRD SEASON,
THE CASE-BOOK OF SHERLOCK HOLMES, DOING TIME ON MAPLE DRIVE, HARSH
REALM: THE COMPLETE SERIES, HERCULES: THE LEGENDARY JOURNEYS, SEASON
FOUR, SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE: THE BEST OF CHRIS KATTAN, SATURDAY NIGHT
LIVE: THE BEST OF TRACY MORGAN, SCOOBY-DOO, WHERE ARE YOU?: THE COMPLETE
FIRST AND SECOND SEASONS, 227: THE COMPLETE FIRST SEASON, and WITHOUT A
TRACE: THE COMPLETE FIRST SEASON:

ANGEL: THE COMPLETE THIRD SEASON (reviewed by Brett Cullum, overall
score 92/100):
"Roger Ebert often says if you could take the leads in any given gay
film and make them heterosexual, and the film would still work, then
they are on the right track. Unfortunately, that will never be the case,
because there are extraordinarily unique experiences that will never
translate to a heterosexual lifestyle."

THE CASE-BOOK OF SHERLOCK HOLMES (reviewed by Maurice Cobbs, overall
score 97/100):
"It is a testament to Brett's amazing talent that his Holmes remains
charming, whether racing along in a manic high, intensely concentrated
on the trail of evidence, or sulking disconsolately at 221b between
cases. We are always engrossed by the detective; although his portrayal
of Holmes is so familiar that it feels right, there is an element of
unpredictability about the character that keeps us guessing and never
seems stale or staid."

DOING TIME ON MAPLE DRIVE (reviewed by Brett Cullum, overall
score 70/100):
"If you like extreme melodrama, this is a good rental choice for a night
when Titanic and The Boy In The Plastic Bubble are checked out."

HARSH REALM: THE COMPLETE SERIES (reviewed by Joel Pearce, overall
score 85/100):
"We should now be starting into the fifth season of Harsh Realm on the
Fox network. So much potential is shown in this brief introduction to
the series, and we can now only imagine what the show may have grown
into if it had been given the chance."

HERCULES: THE LEGENDARY JOURNEYS, SEASON FOUR (reviewed by David
Gutierrez, overall score 89/100):
"This Hercules is one that can take and tell a joke, fights for what's
right, and can cut a mean rug."

FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/herculesseason4.php

SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE: THE BEST OF CHRIS KATTAN (reviewed by Lacey
Worrell, overall score 75/100):
"Despite the fact that E! Entertainment Television has recently procured
the rights to run classic episodes of SNL, this 'Best of' series is a
worthwhile investment for fans of Kattan or other individual cast
members such as Phil Hartman, Will Ferrell, and Tracy Morgan. In any
given episode of the television show, only about 20-30 minutes are
really worth watching; these DVDs cull the most memorable characters
into a reverent package."

SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE: THE BEST OF TRACY MORGAN (reviewed by David
Johnson, overall score 83/100):
"I would say the disc is about fifty-fifty: half of it is good, half of
it sucks. Again -- just like your typical SNL show."

SCOOBY-DOO, WHERE ARE YOU?: THE COMPLETE FIRST AND SECOND SEASONS
(reviewed by Michael Stailey, overall score 84/100):
"Evil doers beware! These five amateur detectives have quite the amazing
track record. Heck, they were the America's Most Wanted of their day.
Although, I shudder to think of the criminal animosity that has built up
over the years as a result of their actions. No wonder they're always on
the road. Makes it harder for the bad guys to find them!"

227: THE COMPLETE FIRST SEASON (reviewed by Lacey Worrell, overall
score 75/100):
"Anyone can relate to the timeless themes and the solid acting. Watching
this show twenty years later, despite some unevenness and the tendency
to become slapstick at times, 227 still rings true."

WITHOUT A TRACE: THE COMPLETE FIRST SEASON (reviewed by Lacey Worrell,
overall score 90/100):
"Digging into the lives of the missing often uncovers truths their
families don't want to hear. Take, for instance, the episode that
focuses on a missing businessman who also happens to be a bigamist, or
the missing advertising executive who is a closet cocaine user. Viewers
are led to wonder, 'If I went missing, what would people find out about
me that I wouldn't want them to know?'"
