"I never miss a chance to see Lina and Naga together. Even when the
story isn't so hot, this dynamic duo certainly is. The way they play off
each other is priceless, and I love the formula: Start off on opposite
sides, end up working together, hilarity ensues."

CHRONO CRUSADE: A PLAGUE OF DEMONS (VOLUME 1) (reviewed by Mitchell

"Chrono Crusade, both the anime and the original manga, was quite
successful in Japan. Fans here in the states who have been awaiting its
release should, technical quibbles aside, be quite pleased with this

"Dragon Half is easily the worst anime I've ever seen. Nothing else even
comes close. I could hardly believe my eyes. I haven't seen such a
series of disasters since Gene Hackman tried to sink California in
Superman. It's supposed to be madcap and manic, but it's really just

Lesson: Mama Mia, an original animation video (OAV), is so
disappointing. It is shrill, it is frantic, and dare I say -- it is
crap. Anime like this not only supports the argument of anime mockers,
it jumps up and urinates a stream of lighter fluid into the fire. Happy
Lesson: Mama Mia makes it hard to defend our beloved genre."

series? Achieve the right tone and it's possible to make almost anything
palatable."

anyone can benefit from -- recognize your success, make it the core of

characters so sweet they will close down your pancreas, and pen and ink
factors so fresh it's like looking at actual fantasy come to life, this
is a quirky, whimsical wonder."
