DVD editen

From programs recorded with a DVD stand allone player from a sat receiver, I
would like to remove the commercials and the first and last part.
Wich program is the most suitable for this goal.

At this moment I'm using Ulead DVD factory but this program needs a few
hours for a movie on a 2.8GHZ computer.

Please help.
