THE BEST OF TRIUMPH THE INSULT COMIC DOG (reviewed by Mitchell Hattaway,
overall score 95/100):
"The film unfolds, not surprisingly, in a novelistic manner, relying
more on character and incident than the machinations of plot. It
wouldn't work half as well with a cast half as strong, but that's not a
problem here. Morton and McDermott are both nothing short of astonishing
in this film."

THE BLACK SOCIETY TRILOGY: SHINJUKU TRIAD SOCIETY (reviewed by Adam

"Shinjuku Triad Society is the archetypal Miike yakuza film, full of
bodily fluids, violent sexuality, isolation, and loneliness. Miike knows
exactly how far to take things, and then takes them farther. Then, he
takes them another step beyond intolerable. This is exactly what makes
him a fantastic director, and makes his movies the things of notoriety."

THE BLACK SOCIETY TRILOGY: RAINY DOG (reviewed by Adam Arseneau, overall

"Anyone who comes on board Rainy Dog expecting to see an orgy of blood,
gang rapes, mutilations, or lactating women (don't even ask about that
last one) will be sorely disappointed, since Rainy Dog steers clear of
all such things. This is a character-driven film, a slow and brooding
development into inner demons and personal isolation, and while the
occasional bullet flies about, this can hardly be called an action
flick, or even a typical Yakuza flick."

LATE NIGHT WITH CONAN O'BRIEN 10TH ANNIVERSARY SPECIAL (reviewed by
David Ryan, overall score 97/100):
"Like all anniversary shows, it's mainly a collection of 'best of'
clips, with occasional guests interspersed. It's also absolutely
hysterical. I haven't laughed this hard or this long at a disc since
Spinal Tap -- and I'd already seen this show when it originally
aired. There is absolutely nothing unfunny in this show, except for
the credits."

"The greatest strength of The Wooden Man's Bride is in its subtlety.
Dialogue is used sparingly, and the filmmakers do not feel the need to
