Default Passion Of The Christ Advanced Screening DVD Review @ GENRE ONLINE.NET!

Well this is not the final store product, but an advanced review copy. However
I feel it is important enough to share so here is my DVD screening disc review
of Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment's "The Passion Of The Christ" at
GENRE ONLINE.NET:

Welcome back! Pay no attention to the whiners you point out that you're
spamming again! There just right wing net fascists who don't like
spammers!!!

Whatever happened to your "livelihood" and "I'm going to continue
writing reviews and posting them on my site" and "you know against my
better judgement I am going to post specific newsgroup versions of my
updates"?

Next time review DVDs that will rid you of your compulsion to spam.

Explain the word "sick" in reference to this flick?

Mark, I know that you have indicated time and again that you are
very intelligent and have received several degrees from English language
institutions of higher learning.

However, it would benefit your website immensely if you would allow a
literate person to proofread and edit your DVD "reviews" before you post
them. A proofreader might have spared you the following literary
embarrassments:

"I can understand why some might find the moving upsetting and if I were
Jewish than perhaps my feelings would be different because I do agree
that a film like this is upsetting, but I do not believe that Gibson
intended to point a finger at any one person or group of people as being
solely culpable in the death of Jesus."

"While viewing the film on DVD I began to cry at the scene where Jesus'
mother Mary come to Jesus as he falls with the great weight of the cross
upon his back and Gibson intercuts this with a flashback of Mary running
to console Jesus as a boy the way any mother would do if they saw their
son or daughter slip and fall to the ground."

"Gibson as a filmmaker has his point of view and regardless of whether
or not you agree with him or think he is just playing with the viewer's
emotions like keys on a piano, I have to state that every film tries to
reach the audience on some deep level regardless of whether or not it is
intentional or simply a coincidence."

Representation of Sado-Masochism for the titillation and entertainment of
others... purporting to be inspirational... GARBAGE.

The same people who would "appreciate" this film are the same people who are
supporting the US service people who abused the inmates at Abu Graib prison
in Iraq... and the same people who would send death threats to the man who
turned over the photos to the proper authorities...

Family values INDEED... is this what America is really all about?

Well, we certainly know your home town of San Francisco is all about
family values, don't we?

And I guess you've been too brainwashed by the liberal idiotology of San
Fran and believe all that left wing propaganda. I have yet to hear or
read about anyone supporting the US service people who abused those
inmates. I'm sure there are some, but there's always a couple kooks on
both sides. Yet, for some reason you and the NY Times just can't seem
to get over that incident.

I guess I should ask the standard question: Have you seen the film? If
so, and you still don't like it, that's fine. I have seen it. It's
indeed as graphic as everyone has claimed it is. I don't see it as
sado-masachist (hey, being from San Fran, you should be supportive of
that! Of course that is NOT to imply that you participate in
sado-masachism). But to assert that people that appreciate that film as
being some sort of wacko is really generalizing and I thought people of
San Fran were all about compassion and open-mindedness. What do you
think about people that appreciate something like Kill Bill or Reservoir
Dogs or any of Romero's zombie films?

I realize my post is quite inflammatory. And I'm sure I'll be accused
of being a racist/bigot/homophobe/grandma killing/wacko conservative.
But I have to take offense to your assertion about people that
appreciate The Passion. The Passion is not going to be everyone's cup
of tea for any number of reasons and that is fine. I could care less.
I'm not trying to change your opinion about the film or convince you
that it is a very good film. But don't jump to conclusions and
generalizations about people that do appreciate the film as I did with
people from San Francisco. I know many people from San Fran that are
great people and it is indeed a great city. But did you like me making
rash generalizations about its occupants, including yourself? Think
about that the next time you make statements like you did above...

Is this an accusation of him spamming? Reads that way to me.

Default OT... Sick Movie

Everyone I know loves their families and children and are concerned for
their welfare.

I am not brainwashed... I use my brain to discern what is right and what is
wrong... it is WRONG to abuse human beings... it is WRONG to discriminate
against other human beings because they have a different point of view... as
the Buddhists state... DO WHAT YOU WILL BUT HARM NONE.

It was on the news last night... and why should I "get over" it? It was an
unjust act by our military against people in prison... do you condone this
type of action? It sounds by your arguement that you do. If we "get over"
it, then it will continue to happen... again and again... just like in nazi
Germany...

I was raised a Roman Catholic as a child... I believed all they taught me...
until I started to use the brain that god gave me and look around at the
world... and I began to study history... about the burning of millions of
"witches" (women mostly) and the Inquisition that slaughtered the Cathars of
France because they questioned the greed and debauchery of the Vatican...
and today they are condeming me as a human being (created by god) because of
who I love... LOVE... and others of "faith" (curious that it is "christians"
who would point a finger at me) who would no sooner stone me or burn me at
the stake for my being the person I am... I work hard, pay my taxes, respect
the law... what am I doing wrong except living my life.

If all of this is OK in your eyes then I am sorry for you and the world you
live in... a place where it is ok to condem others in the name of god...
whose god? It's a big wide wonderful world full of kind and loving people
who do not feel as you do.

Remember... this was a Hollywood movie...not revelation from god... it's
purpose was to make money.
