JVC remote control - weird problem

Hi,

I've got a JVC 7-disk changer. Its remote control will stop working
about half an hour after powering up and using the unit. Batteries
are new in the remote, and the remote continues to control other
units (TV, cable box, etc.). Shut the unit off, and after a short
time the remote will work on it again, then will quit again after a
time. Weird.

Anyone else seen this?
