It seems unlikely...the current producers of the most recent cartoons would probably prefer to keep the older ones off the market. And since Anchor Bay released those Tintin discs in the UK, has there been any sign of a release over here? swac And what about the live-action films? Stephen Cooke |

You can buy the compete set of TinTin movies from individual sellers at EBAY or
Amazon.fr. I think they also sell the DVD's at Amazon.UK Hopefully they'll do a rerelease. I'm not sure when they were made. Were live-action films of TinTin also made? - >Re: TINTIN animated films from 60's/70's >From: Stephen Cooke >Date: 6/15/2004 9:11 AM Pacific Standard Time >Message-id: ><Pine.GSO.3.95.iB1.0.1040615131016.6117C-> >On 15 Jun 2004, Vlvetmorning98 wrote: > >> anyone know if any of the TINTIN animated films made between 1961 and 1972 >will >> be released on DVD in any region? > >It seems unlikely...the current producers of the most recent cartoons >would probably prefer to keep the older ones off the market. > >And since Anchor Bay released those Tintin discs in the UK, has there been >any sign of a release over here? > >swac >And what about the live-action films? Are we talking about the only animated Tintin feature, which is Tintin and the Lake of Sharks, or the serialized TV cartoons from the '60s? > Were live-action films of TinTin also made? Yep. Tintin and the Blue Oranges and Tintin and the Golden Fleece. I used to catch them on French CBC every now and then, but never managed to see the entire version of either feature. The casting wasn't bad, the characters had the look down pat, and the films had a comic book look to them. I even have an original one-sheet for Tintin et les Oranges Bleues on my wall, with unique Herge artwork (even though it was a live action feature). swac There are also French (never translated, as far as I know) picture books combining text and stills from the films. Likewise for a stop-motion version of "Crab with the Golden Claws" from ca 1947. The tintin.be site used to have a comprehensive list of all the film incarnations, but now appears to have been redesigned to eliminate any useful information. -KD -- To reply via email: this ID @<a well known service related to yodeling>.com Cyclograph |

It's been released in the UK by Anchor Bay (and probably elsewhere in Europe) but so far not in North America. swac Stephen Cooke |

There was at least one more, "Tintin et le temple du soleil" (Tintin and the Temple of the Sun). I haven't seen it on DVD, however. Mike Michel Prevost |
