Default DVD Copying?

I have gone to groups and tried to look this up, but perhaps I am putting in
the wrong keywords...

We are trying to make back up copies of our disc, and purchased DVD copy
xpress. I guess now, we have found out that it doesn't copy the menu/etc?

So now, my question is, can anyone recommend a program (shareware/freeware
preferably, but will pay) to be able to do this?

We tried to make a copy of our lodoss war dvd, and it only copied a little,
then stalled. Same with some of the other dvd's that we have. Our only
"option" was to run it past the menu, then copy. But my ranma 1/2 is in
Japanese, with the option to have it subtitled into English...

Thank you *very* much for any suggestions!

Use it's companion product DvdXcopy, or use something like
DvdShrink to rip the disc to your hard drive and then something
like Nero to burn your copy.

Let me guess. You need to make "backups" so your kids won't destroy your originals...

am I close?

You don't need to back up a DVD. They're inexpensive.

Interesting that your stance on copying or backing up DVDs does not
extend to your support for the violation of copyright restrictions by
bypassing the regional zoning system.

In a later posting you advocate the purchase of region free players.

I can spell hypocrite, can you?

Regions have little or nothing to do with copyrights, regions are tied to
distribution rights.

That, my friend, is a distinction without a difference. Both copyright
restrictions and region coding are mechanisms for protecting the corporate
money stream. Nothing more, nothing less, and no difference.

Okay Claire, you want to send me $50 for the second copy
of "Disney's Tarzan: Collectors Edition" I had to pay after my
nephew wrecked disc 1 on my first copy. After all, you seem
to be made of money and all so that $50 won't hurt you since
DVDS are "inexpensive."
