One of the most controversial DVD releases has been made official with the
assignment of UPC numbers, the Star Wars Trilogy. Fox will release the box
set as both P&S (024543123453) and widescreen (024543123415) on September
21st. Both are THX certified and feature Dolby EX audio and will list for
$69.98. The extras stated so far are film specific commentaries for each of
the three movies with a 'feature packed' forth disc. Lucas is slated to be
in each of the commentaries. No word yet as to the expected or dreaded
alterations that are sure to be present.
Goldhil Home Media will release four sets in their Great Crimes & Trials Of
The 20th Century series. Each disc will list for $12.95 or you can opt for
the box set for $44.95. Release date is May 11th.
Also from Goldhil are some dramas set for release on may 18th. Each lists

the most infamous female serial killers, on June 1st. The disc will feature
Dolby 5.1 audio and anamorphic video, retailing for $26.95. The extras will
include a trailer and a making of featurette. For the real story behind this
heinous person you can also get Aileen: Life And Death Of A Serial Killer on
the same date for $19.95. For those that want it all Columbia also has both
in a two pack for $39.95.
