Default So...is "Lion King 1 1/2" any good?

Hi all,

Just curious. I enjoyed 'The Lion King', and was encouraged that Nathan
Lane is involved, but given that so many direct-to-video Disney sequels
stink, I gotta ask - has anyone seen this one? Is it worth a rental, or
will I regret it?

They got the 1-1/2 part right: as in 1.5 stars.

Poor, desperate Disney.

If you like a "film" heavy on toilet humor and silly singalongs then
you'll love it and will be well worth buying. If not then save your
hard earned dollar for the August re-release of "Lion King 2."

(Take it from someone who owns the original DVD release of
"Lion King 2" as well as "Lion King" on both Laserdisc and
the DVD collectors boxset with the box and drawings)

The animation is worlds above most other Disney direct-to-video releases - I
was very surprised at the technical quality of the production. That's the
high point, though. The kids will like it, but I found the whole thing
pretty boring.

I was geared up for a yawner since it was direct to video, but was
pleasantly surprised as this little film.

Here's a full review of the DVD if that helps:
