I get a lot of DVDs and TV screeners and do everything myself. It has gotten to
a point where I sometimes have to turn down reviewing things because I simply
do not have the time. I realize it would be a good idea to hire some support
writers, but I cannot afford to pay them and while many websites compensate
their staff members with allowing them to keep the movies they review, free
DVDs won't pay the rent, put food on the table, and generally pay the bills. I
know when I first started working for others I hated writing for free, but
while it is good to get a start and experience, I find people will take
advantage of others. So until or if I can afford to pay someone or unless they
will get college credit that can be verified as an intern, I'll keep doing the
work myself. Things may be slower sometimes, but they will get done and
hopefully for my part, done well. Thank you.

I also forgot to mention that generally from August through December is my
busiest season because of the endless horror films that must be reviewed by
halloween and then the titles that are released for the holidays must be done
before Christmas or shortly after. That plus the Anniversary Report and Top Ten
TV on DVD and DVD releases add to the crunch time. Especially when you are a
one man show.

Mark, really, you must proof these things if you don't want people to
make relentless fun of you. There is so much inept grammar, so many
sentences filled with malaprops, and so many pointless ramblings that it
just boggles the mind. First off, do you really suppose people care
about what you personally think of the show? Or, for that matter, your
mentioning other series which have nothing to do with the review at
hand?

But I digress - let me cut to the chase: Did you or did you not start
your "review" site to get free DVDs? Yes or no? What credentials do
you have to be a "reviewer"? The fact that you've seen a few movies in
your life? Because to be a "reviewer" one must have some sort of
command of the English language, one must write with some lucidity
(other than using your computer's thesaurus for words like "paradigm"),
and, most importantly, one must at least have a rudimentary
understanding of film. I guess if you respond with "Yes, I do it for
free DVDs" that I'll understand. If it's something else then I just
don't understand how anyone who takes themselves the least bit seriously
would allow themselves to print a "review" that is "written" in the
manner in which you write.

I know you don't give a flying Wallenda about any of this, because those
free DVDs keep coming - my point is, if you're going to continually post
these things in various ngs, you SHOULD give a flying Wallenda about it.
Meanwhile, those of us who take the time to read your "reviews" will
continue to marvel at the fact that you ALLOW these things to be read.
