Is there any software that will allow me to back-up a back-up of a DVD? i.e.
copy a DVD that has already been re-authored to fit a DVD-R? Is there any that allows you to do this by copying from a DVD-ROM drive to a DVD-RW drive on-the-fly? What software does this? TIA. Mike |

DVD Decrypter (free) will copy and burn in ISO mode, but not on the fly. Nero will do it on the fly, but it's always risky. Any small system hiccup can mess up the process. It takes more time to rip to the hard drive and then burn, but you're much less likely to get a coaster. Skid |

But if he's renting DVD's then copying them-yes.. And just because the FIAA change the law regarding this backup "illegal" doesn't change my view. If a law comes out saying "being black is illegal" would blacks just accept it? I don't think so. Nath |

Use something like Nero or Alcohol 120% - turn off writing on-the-fly & an image will be created on the HD before being burnt to the blank DVDR. This obviously assumes you've sufficient HD space.
